  • Waterfund is a global water investment and trading firm, focused on acquiring and managing infrastructure assets utilizing the latest technology in desalination and wastewater treatment to produce and sell clean water to the highest-value end users.  We manage a portfolio of assets that capture the rising value of water globally while rationalizing consumption and promoting sustainable patterns of water use to preserve this vital resource for the future.

Waterfund leverages a distinct data advantage in identifying investment destinations and opportunities, the Water Cost Index (WCI).  Developed alongside IBM Research’s Accelerated Discovery Lab, the Waterfund WCI establishes a proprietary benchmark to measure the true cost of producing potable water in various cities and regions around the world.  Waterfund uses the Index to identify locations with the greatest “cost to price delta,” i.e. the gap between the full cost of water production and local tariffs.  This provides an indication of places where there may be significant operational inefficiencies on the part of local utilities coupled with ample scope for future price increases – compelling investment environments for Waterfund.
